Something's Brewing At Starbucks

Did you get a free cup of coffee at one of the sixty Starbuck's in the St.Louis area?
"Pike Place Market" coffee is named after the first Starbuck's store in Seattle in 1971.
CEO Howard Schultz is reinventing the company and decided to listen to what customers want! One thousand people polled indicated they didn't necessarily always want a cup of coffee strong enough to keep you awake for two days.
So, today free coffee as Starbuck's tries to get back to it's roots when coffee didn't cost A-Latte if you will. I say he can do it. I think his efforts to get back to where he once belonged is going to work.
What do you think?

Puppets and People

I love to watch children laugh spontaneously. That's exactly what happens when kids watch Bob Kramer Marionnettes. This puppet theatre in the Central West End is really a St.Louis gem. It's been around for, get ready for this, forty-five years!
They credit their longevitiy to hard work, their love for children and puppets. Tune in Sunday night April 13th to see kids faces light up as they're entertained. We'll also go behind the scenes to see exactly what it takes to make a marionnettes. You may be surprised.

The other thing I love are young entrepreuners who get into the game of owing their own business. This Sunday, April 6th, we'll introduce you to Janice Gregory. She is a public relations, marketing person. Her firm is called, Gregory Communications. She's a great role model and a positive person. I highly recommend anyone, especially young people, to watch.
You never know where your inspiration will come from.

All this and more Sunday nights at 9pm on CW 11 News. Tune in with anchor Jeff Bernthal.
Thanks for watching and keep your ideas rolling in. I'll keep profiling positive people!
Someday Spring will really be here!

Buck on Business

Hi Bloggers,

Buck on Business is gaining momentum. I appreciate all the story ideas pitched my way.
It's refreshing to do positive stories about people who have taken risks and succeeded.
We've profiled entrepreuners in the bi-state area who serve as inspirations to other potential business owners.

Speaking of inspiration, Easter Sunday, we'll profile Susan Synder and her angels. She started small and has grown into a worldwide distributor. Her products are designed to reach out to people who need it the most. She has angels earmarked for celebrations as well.
Angel Touches are hand held art sculptures that carry motivational messages and aspirations.
www.suellencollections.com is her website.

Tune in every Sunday night for Buck On Business with my colleague, anchor Jeff Bernthal.
Thanks for watching!
Sincerely,
Christine

Buck On Business

"UMA" will air Sunday, November 25th. This store has been in downtown St.Louis for several years. The owner says today it feels like a neighborhood compared to a few years ago.
The store is unique with all sorts of affordable whimsical items as well as high end stuff rarely seen in St.Louis.
Some of their tumblers have been featured in Oprah's "O" Magazine, so needless to say, they've been inundated with requests for this particular glassware. The website is www.iloveuma.com.
Tune in and find out more about this business that is helping revitalize downtown St.Louis.
Thanks for watching,

Buck on Business

Dear Viewers,

I've profiled a St.Louis couple who are marketing Avocados from Mexico, Chile and the Dominican. The Ultimate Avocado was an ultimate leap of faith for them as he left his corporate job behind and is applying all he knows into the marketing and branding of their new venture.

I'm also working on a story about a landscaper with a conscience. He's part of a nationwide organization that helps people, primarily women, with their lawns while their loved one serves in Iraq. It's the everyday stuff a lot of people need help with when a husband, wife, brother or father go to war!

My next story is about an advertising and marketing company that concentrates on implementing creative solutions in a fun way. Even the title, "Sandbox Creative" comes from watching children having fun in sandboxes.
I'll have more later.
Keep the ideas rolling in!
Christine
